The Silver Tongue’s Best of 2009: Southern Rock
Posted on: 27 December 2009
Drivin N Cryin made The Silver Tongue’s Best of 2009: Southern Rock list along with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zac Brown Band, The Avett Brothers, and Blackberry Smoke. “This is a band to be respected, admired and seen!”

I grew up with Hendrix,Crosby Stills and Nash,Bob Dylan,The Beatles,Jethro Tull, The Stones, and many more greats. I played the drums for small town country and rock bands and my first job was as a disc jockey in the small town of The Dalles, Oregon where I still reside. I was born in 51 and just discovered how good the band is when I was about 40 and then did a serious revisit about a year ago with Fly Me Courageous and Smoke practically wearing out my CD player and I feel that the group has never recieved the attention or fame that they deserve. I suppose it might have something to do with the northwest region and the flood of excellent talent here such as was Nirvana and is Pearl Jam today. The music is killer and the lyrics are smart, heartfelt, touching , and original. I would love to hear a collaboration of or any concert or recording with Collective
Soul and Drivin n Cryin. That would be like a meld of Valhalla and Heaven!
