WSJ: Sonic Summer with DNC

For rock aficionados of a certain vintage raised in the Southeast, the men of Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ are legends—makers of albums and instigators of live shows in the 1990s that seemed to assume storied status in the classic-rock canon but, as time and travels later told, never meant half as much to anyone outside the region. There’s something endearingly old-fashioned about that now, as regional boosterism loses out to post-geographical online ooze. But there’s plenty to celebrate regardless, as Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ carries on. The Atlanta-based band has a deep catalog of songs that split the seams of country, folk and rock, with clues to its overall effect hidden in titles like “Honeysuckle Blue,” “Straight to Hell” and “Scarred But Smarter.”

I’ve been listeing to those guys since 1991 since my days at Georgia Southern Univ. and The Univ. of Georgia! Saw them 4 times in the last 2 years!
one of the best bands in the studio, live, and in person! thanks Kevin for signlng me and Nathans shirts and art work, you guys are the nest
I ventured out to see DNC at the Mohegan Sun on the eve of 8/17. My first opportunity to see the guys live after being a long-time fan. The crowd was subdued ; but Kevin, Tim, Dave and Sadler put on the best sounding , no bull shit rock and roll..R&B with country twist show that I’ve ever seen. Kevn’s writing and voice and Tim and Dave’s rythym and Sadler out on the fringe. Some of the best that America has to offer in my opinion.
Thanks for the show ! Gerry
